Recover safely. Return to work with a plan.

Do you have an accepted WorkCover claim?

Your claim status affects funding and invoicing—not your right to ask for clinical advice.

Yes — accepted

You can request an appointment

For an accepted claim, WorkSafe states that initial physiotherapy can be accessed without prior WorkSafe approval or a medical referral. Treatment must relate to the accepted work injury or illness.

Not accepted or unsure

Confirm the payment pathway first

Contact your employer or WorkSafe agent/insurer about the claim. Reception can explain the clinic’s private-payment option, but Physio Cure cannot decide liability or guarantee reimbursement.

Billing and approvals

Confirm who is paying before treatment

WorkSafe agents may pay the reasonable costs of physiotherapy required because of an accepted work-related injury or illness, subject to the legislation, policies, fee schedules and any applicable approvals.

  • Reception must confirm the clinic’s billing arrangement.
  • Some services, reports, equipment or extended consultations may require approval.
  • You may be responsible for fees if the claim is not accepted or coverage cannot be confirmed.
  • Physio Cure does not determine liability, entitlement or reimbursement.

Frequently asked questions

Before you book

For claim-specific advice, contact your WorkSafe agent or insurer. Reception can only explain our clinic process.

Email reception
Do I need a GP referral for WorkCover physiotherapy?

For an accepted Victorian WorkCover claim, WorkSafe states that initial physiotherapy does not require prior WorkSafe approval or a medical referral. Other requirements may apply to particular services or later care.

Will WorkSafe pay every physiotherapy cost?

No guarantee can be made. Payment depends on the accepted injury, WorkSafe rules, reasonable-cost limits, clinical justification and any applicable approval. Confirm the clinic’s billing arrangement before treatment.

Will you contact my employer or insurer?

Communication may be required for care or claim administration. We explain the purpose and share only information that is authorised, reasonably necessary or legally required.

How many appointments will I need?

This cannot be decided safely before assessment. Appointment frequency and duration are reviewed against function, progress, goals, claim requirements and applicable funding rules.

What if my claim has not been accepted?

You may still discuss private physiotherapy, but you may need to pay the private fee. Physio Cure cannot promise that an employer, insurer or WorkSafe agent will reimburse it later.
