VETERANS’ HEALTH & REHABILITATION

DVA Physiotherapy

Physio Cure welcomes veterans and DVA cardholders. We work with you on movement, mobility and rehabilitation goals, with care shaped around your needs and everyday activities.

DVA-funded treatment depends on your card entitlements, clinical need and referral. Our team can check the arrangements for your appointment before you attend.

Who may be eligible?

A Veteran Card covering all conditions may cover clinically necessary physiotherapy. A card covering specific conditions generally covers treatment for an accepted service-related condition. We check your relevant entitlements before treatment.

Referrals and treatment cycles

Referrals can come from a GP, medical specialist, treating hospital doctor or hospital discharge planner. Standard allied-health treatment cycles last up to 12 sessions or one year, whichever comes first. TPI Veteran Card holders are exempt from the standard physiotherapy treatment cycle; treatment must still be clinically necessary.

Please check before booking.
Confirm your referral, card entitlements, treating clinician and location with our team. Clinic acceptance does not itself establish that a particular service is DVA-funded.

Preparing for your first appointment

  • Have your Veteran Card and current referral available.
  • Tell us which location you would like to attend and any access needs.
  • Bring relevant reports and a list of the activities you would like to work towards.
  • Let us know about your current physiotherapy or other rehabilitation care so we can discuss coordination.

Care built around your goals

Your first appointment is an opportunity to talk about what matters to you, discuss your current difficulties and agree on priorities. Your physiotherapist will explain the proposed approach, answer your questions and discuss how progress can be reviewed. The plan will depend on your assessment and individual circumstances.

Funding and appointment arrangements

Ask our team to confirm the funding arrangements for the particular service before you attend, including any services outside DVA coverage. Please do not assume every appointment or exercise service is covered by your card.

For the current national rules, visit the Department of Veterans’ Affairs physiotherapy information.
