FAQs

Frequently asked questions

View all FAQs

Do I need a GP referral?

Private physiotherapy appointments generally do not require a GP referral. Some funding schemes and care plans have their own requirements.

Can you help after a hip or knee replacement?

Yes. Physiotherapy can support mobility, strength, walking, function and progressive return to everyday activities after surgery, in line with your surgeon’s advice and precautions.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies according to your condition, severity, goals, response to treatment and whether you are recovering from surgery. Your physiotherapist will discuss a plan after assessment.

Can physiotherapy help me return to sport?

Where clinically appropriate, rehabilitation can include strength, balance, running, jumping, change-of-direction and sport-specific progression.
